The Fintech South Awards: Recognizing the Best of Fintech in Georgia
Startups are an important part of the Fintech South community. Innovation Challenge is an annual program that recognizes innovative U.S. fintech startups with ties to Georgia. Eligibility for the program, which includes both cash and in-kind awards for the winning company, is limited to founders of early-stage companies who have raised less than $1 million in funding and are based in (or committed to relocating to) Georgia. Read more about Innovation Challenge here, including past winners, program details and eligibility requirements.
Earlier this year, our committee selected the 2020 Fintech South Innovation Challenge cohort, comprised of the 10 deserving companies listed below:
During September and leading up to Fintech South, the founders of these startups will engage in a full month of curated education programs and mentoring that have become a hallmark of this world-class startup engagement program presented by the Technology Association of Georgia, the producers of Fintech South.
During Fintech South week, our cohort of 10 companies will participate in a special Investor Preview event on Monday afternoon, October 5 where the founders will pitch and receive candid feedback from an all-star group of fintech VCs. Then, on Thursday afternoon, October 8, our top 3 finalists will compete on the Atlanta Stage for a $25,000 cash prize!
Each of the founders will make their pitch and you, our audience, will engage them in a live Q&A session and ultimately vote to determine the winner. Don’t miss all the excitement!
The TAG Fintech ADVANCE award program recognizes innovative U.S. fintech companies with ties to Georgia. The award is designed for growth-stage to larger, more established firms. At Fintech South, we’re proud to host the 2020 ADVANCE award-winning companies (see the complete list of winners here) for a special agenda feature on Tuesday, October 6 at 3:00-5:00pm EDT. Join us for a series of insightful interviews with the executives that led each company’s award-winning innovation on lessons learned and what’s next!
Starting in 2010 with retired Synovus Financial Corporation Chairman and CEO Jimmy Blanchard, the Technology Association of Georgia’s Fintech Society has honored industry leaders who paved the way for Atlanta to be the global fintech hub it is today. This is one of highest honors in Georgia’s thriving financial technology community and we’re proud to continue this tradition at Fintech South 2020. Each year’s winner becomes a new inductee into the TAG Fintech Hall of Fame.
Please us on Monday afternoon, October 5 as we celebrate this year’s honoree M. Troy Woods, Chairman at Global Payments, with a ceremony and fireside chat as part of our opening Atlanta Stage Keynotes session.
